Language
English, French, and Spanish, chosen per person.
Church Planner is available in English, French, and Spanish, in the app and on the website.
Choosing your language
Click the language menu in the top bar and pick English, Français, or Español. The choice is personal and saved with your account: a French-speaking worship leader and an English-speaking admin can work in the same church, each in their own language.
If you have never opened the menu, Church Planner keeps the language your browser was already showing when you signed in.
Your church's language
Separately from your own choice, each church has a language of its own. It is asked for when the church is created (on the registration form and again on the first step of the setup wizard), and it can be changed later under Settings, then Date and time.
The church language decides what language your church's own information is created in:
- the names of the ministries and positions Church Planner sets up for you,
- your default location and service type,
- the date format that names new events, which is why a French church gets "mer. 9 sept. 2026" rather than "Wed Sep 9",
- and messages sent to people who have no account yet.
The two settings are deliberately independent. A bilingual church secretary can read every screen in English while the church's own records are written in French.
Changing the church language later is not retroactive. It does not translate anything you already have; nothing is renamed. It decides what language new information is created in from that point on. Anything already named keeps its name, and you can rename it yourself at any time.
What is translated
The whole interface: navigation, pages, and dialogs. Your own data (event titles, song charts, notes, messages) stays exactly as you typed it.
Reminders and alerts follow the same choice. Schedule reminders, unread-message reminders, birthday digests, position alerts, and missed-attendance reports go out in the language on your account, by email and by text, so two people in the same church can receive the same reminder each in their own language.
An invitation to join a church arrives in that church's language, since the person being invited has no account yet to read a preference from. Once they sign in and pick their own language, everything after that follows their choice.
